Ikarus Aero 2F
The Ikarus Aero 2F is a Yugoslav training aircraft that was designed and built by the Ikarus factory in Zemun, in the former Yugoslavia. The aircraft made its first flight in the 1940s and quickly became one of the primary training aircraft of the Yugoslav Air Force. The Aero 2F was based on the earlier Aero 2 design and was praised for its reliability and excellent flight characteristics for training purposes.
An Aircraft with a Rich History
The training aircraft was used for basic pilot training and played an important role in building the Yugoslav Air Force after World War II. The Ikarus Aero 2F was a single-engine low-wing design with an open cockpit, making it an excellent training aircraft. Its production ran from the late 1940s into the 1950s, and the aircraft served with several air forces in the region of southeastern Europe.
