Gerardus van der Leeuw (1890-1950) was a distinguished Dutch theologian, historian of religion and Egyptologist. Van der Leeuw was also politically active as Minister of Education, Arts and Sciences in the Schermerhorn-Drees Cabinet (1945-1946).
