Eucalypta: an iconic goblin series
Eucalypta is a renowned series of little goblins designed in the 1960s. The figures are based on the fairy-tale goblins of illustrator Rien Poortvliet, who became world-famous with his book about forest goblins. This Paulus the Forest Goblin is one of the most recognizable figures from the collection and a favorite among collectors.
Paulus the Forest Goblin
Paulus is the wise forest goblin who appears in Poortvliet's stories as an advisor and protector of the forest. This 1967 figurine captures his distinctive appearance with the typical pointed hat and beard. The hard rubber material gives the figurine a solid base and ensures the fine details are well preserved. With dimensions of 3x4x5.5cm, it is a compact yet particularly decorative item.
Collectible value
Vintage Eucalypta figurines have become increasingly sought after by collectors over the years. The original versions from the 1960s are particularly rare and valued for their historical and decorative significance. This hard rubber example is an attractive addition to any collection of Dutch goblins, vintage toys, or vintage ceramics.
A gift full of nostalgia
This figurine is a perfect gift for someone who appreciates nostalgic value or is a fan of Rien Poortvliet's goblin stories. It combines a rich history with a charming appearance that appeals to both young and old. As a collectible, it has a lasting sentimentality that makes it a truly special gift.
